Well I'm back! I don't think I've properly signed in to dA in around 3 years, so it's exciting to see what's changed. With a new found passion for UI design I've decided to brush the dust off my username and exhibit some of my newer ideas.
The main thing that motivated this reboot would probably have to be the release of Android 4.0, or Ice Cream Sandwich, and the design problems that came with it - and by design problems, I mean the problems some developers have with following the design outline. Google seem to have spent a lot of time improving the UI of Android to come up to the visual standard of iOS, and with the release of their 'design handbook' there doesn't seem to be much of an excuse to release badly designed apps. I'm not going to name and shame the culprits, but if I submit a revamp mock-up on here then it will probably be because I feel that there is room for improvement.
I'm also going to keep my old entries up. Although my former teenage self thought that 'bloom' and 'exposure' should be placed alongside 'intense' in the dictionary (I wasn't a bright kid), it's interesting to see how my design ethic has changed and how (I think) I've tried to place usability above creativity, without sacrificing the latter.
Any suggestions are of course more than welcome
